Hickson 44      (HCG 44)
About 60 million light years away, in the constellation of Leo, sits this magnificent group of galaxies. NGC 3185 (barred spiral), NGC 3187 (barred spiral), NGC 3190 (on edge spiral), NGC 3193 (elliptical) The galaxies in Hickson 44 are close enough that they interact with each other gravitationally. This causes the individual galaxies to become distorted and in some cases even share material.
