Sh2-297 is an emission nebula and is a very active area of new star formation. Studies in 1988 found that the bright star illuminating the nebula was 8th magnitude HD 53623.


Taken 3/10/18 in Pioneer Ohio by Russell Kille on a CPC 1100 with Hyperstar @ F2 and ZWO ASI294MC Pro camera
